খুজু- এর শাব্দিক অর্থ ঝুঁকে যাওয়া। অর্থাৎ মানুষ নামাজে আল্লাহপাকের সামনে এমন ভাবে দাঁড়াবে যে, তার সব অঙ্গ গুলো আল্লাহ তায়ালার সামনে ঝুঁকে যাবে। গাফিলতি ও উদাসীনতার জগতে থাকবে না বরং আল্লাহপাকের সামনে আদবের সঙ্গে দাঁড়াবে। এখন দেখতে হবে নামাজে দাঁড়ানোর কোন পদ্ধতি আদবের সঙ্গে আর কোন পদ্ধতিতে আদব ছাড়া হয় ? এর ফয়সালা আমরা আমাদের বিবেক দ্বারা করতে পারবোনা বরং এর ব্যাখ্যা নবী কারীম সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বর্ণনা করে দিয়েছেন। সুতরাং নামাজ পড়ার প্রত্যেক ঐ তরিকা, যা রাসূলে কারীম সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লামের বাতলানো তরিকা মোতাবেক হবে সেটাই হবে আদবের সঙ্গে। আর যে পদ্ধতিটা রাসূলে কারীম সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লামের বাতলানো তরিকার খেলাফ হবে সেটা হবে আদবহীন তরীকা। তাই নামাজ টি সেই তরিকায় পড়া চাই যে তরিকায় রাসূলে কারীম সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম শিক্ষা দিয়েছেন। একবার নামাজের পর রাসূলে কারীম সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম সাহাবায়ে কেরাম (রাযি.) কে বলেন صلوا کما رایتمونی اصلی অর্থঃ তোমরা সেইভাবেই নামাজ পড়ো যেভাবে তোমরা আমাকে নামাজ পড়তে দেখেছ। (“সহি বুখারি” হাদিস নং- ৫৯৫, “সুনানে দারেমী” হাদিস নং- ১২২৫)

অতএব যে পদ্ধতিটি নামাজ পড়ার জন্য স্বয়ং নবী কারীম সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম অবলম্বন করেছেন এবং তিনি যে তরিকার ব্যাপারে তালকিন করেছেন, সে তরীকাটাই আদবের তরিকা। অন্য কোন ব্যক্তি তাতে নিজ বিবেক দ্বারা কমাতে ও বাড়াতে পারবে না।
